Ms. Hayashi is a partner of Sakurazaka Law Offices. She graduated from the Waseda University, Faculty of Law. After passing the bar examination in 1983, she worked as a public prosecutor and was later registered as an attorney in Tokyo Bar Association. After working in international and US law offices, she was a partner of Eitai Sogo Law Offices in Tokyo from 1993 to 2014. She handles consultations, contract negotiations, and dispute resolution including litigation and alternative dispute resolution, regarding domestic and overseas corporate legal affairs and intellectual property management.

She has served the Japan Intellectual Property Arbitration Center as President (2011-2012) and the JFBA Committee on Intellectual Property Rights as Chairperson (2013-2014). She is also busy as a Secretary of IP Lawyers Network Japan (http://www.iplaw-net.com), which was established in 2005 as a project of the Japan Federation of Bar Associations.

In addition to her current role as a member of the Regulatory Reform Council at the Cabinet Office (http://www8.cao.go.jp/kisei/en/), she is also a visiting professor at Chuo Law School (“Strategic patent license contracts”) since 2008 and an outside director of Cool Japan Fund Inc. (http://www.cj-fund.co.jp/en/about/cjfund.html). She is also a member of government councils including the Industrial Structure Council/Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry; Customs Dissatisfaction Review Committee/Ministry of Finance; and Central Arbitration Committee for Construction Work Disputes /Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
Ms. Hayashi is a frequent moderator and speaker at symposiums and conferences regarding intellectual property and international business and has also published many papers.
